Field Trip to USS Iowa

Topic

Design and installation of Fire Protection and Alarm system for USS Iowa. The presentation will focus on Arup’s involvement and design of the fire alarm and fire protection systems in the areas programmed to be used for overnight events.

Speaker 

Ozzie Mercado holds a NICET III certification in Fire Alarm Systems and works for Arup as a Senior Fire Specialist code consultant. Mr. Mercado has over 15 years of experience in the fire alarm/fire protection industry and has spent the last 6 years working for Arup.  

Schedule

11:30AM: Networking and lunch 

12:00PM: Introductions, chapter business and lunch

12:15PM: Presentation

12:45PM: Tour of USS Iowa

1:30PM: Conclusion of Meeting 

Special Instructions

The tour portion of this field trip will include steep ladders and require that participants be able bodied. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to endure tight spaces and close quarter with your fellow chapter members. 

Parking cost is $2/hour and is not included in the meeting cost. please be prepared to pay with cash or credit card.

*Please note, lunch will be delivered and choices will be limited. If you have specific preferences please show up on time or early.
