Biography: 

Maria has been active in the fire/life safety and security industry for over 30 years and sits on several NFPA technical committees, including NFPA 3, 4, 72, 101, and 915. She is the Chair of NEMA’s Life Safety, Security, and Emergency Communications Section and active with SFPE serving as a member of the SFPE Editorial Board, Vice-Chair of the SFPE Foundation Board of Governors, and the Fire Protection Research Foundation Board of Trustees. A graduate of Wellesley College, Maria holds NICET IV in Fire Alarm and CFPS certifications.
