The Southern California Chapter of SFPE invites you to an in-person or virtual presentation on fire pump installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance.

Join SoCal SFPE in supporting the future of fire protection engineering! Sponsorship proceeds from this event will support our scholarship program for students pursuing fire protection engineering education and careers.

Each year, SoCal SFPE awards a $3,000 academic scholarship to help encourage the next generation of fire protection professionals. Your sponsorship not only supports this important program but also demonstrates your organization's commitment to advancing the fire protection engineering profession.

Event sponsors will be recognized during our scholarship awards in appreciation of their support of rising fire protection engineers.

This presentation will highlight common mistakes made by engineers, contractors, and building owners or managers when evaluating and maintaining fire pump systems. Topics will include assessing existing and new fire pump installations, commissioning and testing procedures, common pitfalls that may mislead inspectors, the latest fire pump, controller, and driver technologies, and considerations for variable-speed pumps. The presentation will also cover how to interpret annual fire pump test reports, evaluate equipment service life, determine whether to repair or replace a pump, and identify best practices for common repairs. Drawing on Todd’s extensive experience, attendees will gain practical insights into identifying potential issues, avoiding costly mistakes, and ensuring reliable fire pump performance. Bring your questions!
